I am Assistant Professor of International Studies at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington. I hold a DPhil in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the University of Oxford. Previously, I was also a Post-doctoral Fellow at The New School's Zolberg Institute on Migration and Mobility. My research focuses on migration and the environment through the framework of resource extraction, from ethnographic fieldwork in the Republic of Nauru, Australia, Geneva, and Fiji to research projects in Jordan and the US-Mexico borderlands.
